As versatile as it is sleek, the Katana is the binding of choice for riders who want lightweight performance from peak to park and back again. Built with the ultra-light, fully redesigned AsymWrap platform and upgraded impact absorption thanks to DuraCush™ on the SubBase pad and footbeds, the Katana is built to take speed, send-it deep and make any board ride better.
Great bindings. They are comfortable, adjustable, and perform well.
I haven’t splurged on bindings for a long time, but I must say the Katanas are well worth price. The ability to customize just about every piece of these make the riding, not only personal, but controllable. The change was noticed immediately and I cannot wait to play around with the options. If you are hesitant that’s understandable but take this as a sign to snag these bad boys and bring some extra joy to your experience.
After riding for seven days using the new product, I noticed the highback cracked on the pivot points on the top and bottom of my plant foot before strapping in for a run. It was pretty scary to think my foot could have given way from the board. I am now renting bindings at $15 per day, which is a bummer. Additionally, the ankle strap bolt on the back foot strap connection is also broken and becomes loose when you move up and down a few times. For the money spent, I am very disappointed with the quality of the product and the lack of support offered.
I own Nitro Zero’s, Union Force’s and now these… these are my new favorite bindings and so far are exceeding my expectations! They are super responsive and are my go to’s for charging big lines, while still having enough play for some freestyling. The high back adjustability is also a game changer. 11/10 would recommend
Only ridden 2 days on these as of now but so far so good. The straps are insanely comfortable and I feel that I don't have to tighten them as much (10/10 for straps). Ratchets are solid but I find they are a bit tough to undo... probably have to work them in a little first (8/10 for ratchets). So much adjustability which I have yet to explore (10/10 the most adjustable bindings out there). I got the L/XL and my fit is decent. I felt my size 12 Vans Infuse were slightly too long for the shorter footbed and the heel cup is a tight fit that I can feel through my boots, but I expect this to get better over time... your mileage may vary here. The ride quality is supreme and I am really excited to try them on my freestyle deck and take advantage of the asymwrap. Overall I am very happy with these bad boys.
Built to maximize tweakability and a surfy board feel, our innovative AsymWrap platform started the conversation about how bindings can and should ride.
A Rome exclusive binding innovation, PivotMounts are small adjustable pieces that allow riders to move the position of their ankle straps on their boots. The higher up on your boot the ankle strap sits, the more power and turn initiation. The lower the strap goes, the more surfy and tweakable your riding will be.
PivotMount Max provides 8 different strap options per side of the ankle strap, 64 configurations total.
Designed so riders can adjust their highbacks to mirror the angle of their heelside edge for maximum power transfer.
Built so that riders can adjust the angle of their highback to mirror the angle of their lower leg for increased connection and stability.
Created to help fit a wider range of boot models and sizes.
