    Above The Rest!

First let me state this is a review of the Libertine full BOA boots.

I will begin by applauding Rome on actually making a good looking boot, so many boots on the market are just plain basic black with no style at all. The first thing that caught my eye was the style/look of these boots, these are a sharp!

Now to what counts, the fit/quality:
I must have tried over 8 pairs of snowboard boots, over the span of a couple weeks looking for a solid mid flex well made constructed boot that is rugged and sleek on the outside as well as cushioned, supportive and warm on the inside, these boots were the first ones that checked all the boxes for me.

Other boots felt like the liners were just cheaply made and too thin with no warmth, or the boot shell just seemed thin and weak, the Libertines right out of the box feel like a solid boot that will last. The liners are plush around and under foot and the liners have a terrific ankle molding for heal support. The shell also has a great netting strap in the boot to heal lock your liner in place.

These are perfect stiffness, and hold up really well driving hard into carves and are flexible enough to mess around while buttering.

They kept my feet warm and had a very short pack out/break in time. And the boa system is awesome being able to tighten or loosen my boots on the fly.

I do have two issues with the functionality of theses boots though, and why i gave them 4 stars instead of 5.

Getting out of the boot after riding is so difficult! I cant speak for this issue happening with the hybrid or traditional laces boot, but the tongue of the boa boot will not flex out enough and it makes for a really big struggle just to take my feet out.

The second issue with these boots is the difficulty removing the liner from the boot shell itself. I have always removed my liners after riding to let them air dry out from any moisture that built up while riding, and these liners just dont want to come out. It’s also very difficult to put them back into the boot shell as well, I have to physically force them in by stuffing them so hard that i feel like im damaging the liners.

When it comes down to it, taking the boots on/off and getting the liners in and out are just a small issues when looking at the overall quality and comfort of the boot itself, but it is a functional issue i have to deal with every time i ride. Also it might just be an issue with the full boa, i cant speak to the others.

    Hot Damn!

The best boots I have ever owned! Super quick break in time, very responsive with the perfect amount of flex! These boots have already served me well bombing groomers, shredding through the woods and floating some pow! They form well to your feet and keep comfortable even when you end up on a flatter trail or need to hike out. If this is what you ride then these boots will do you well!
